#MemoryFutureLabs is a community-led art initiative that uplifts & documents memories of

Volume I
#MemoryFutureLabs launched in Winter of 2021 by Kelli Jackson of Hanks Mini Market, Arianne Edmonds of JL Edmonds Project and artist Kim Schoenstadt, for LA Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX Transit line. Vol. I encouraged community members with connections to the Hyde Park and Inglewood to share archival photos and memories of significant spaces, places and landmarks. These stories and images formed an interactive map and digital campaign in conjunction with Schoenstadt’s Metro station mural project. Select images are being archived at the Los Angeles Public Library, TESSA digital collections.


Volume II
#MemoryFutureLabs partnered with Target and multidisciplinary artist, Autumn Breon to collect stories and images of the pride and daily joy of life in Inglewood and South Central Los Angeles. #MemoryFutureLabs Activation team launched archive events with local business to source archival images from community members for a large-scale collage styled mural for the forthcoming Inglewood Florence & La Brea location in Spring 2023.
